Amy has been in the world of performance for over 20 years, starting as a gymnast and moving into dance and musical theatre. She offers a huge amount of knowledge and experience within theatre, performance and education, receiving several awards for her work and performance.
She qualified in dance at the age of 19 and ever since has performed and taught extensively.
Amy has obtained her PGCE alongside teaching qualifications with the IDTA. At present Amy is a full time lecturer at Leeds City College, delivering Musical Theatre, Dance and Acting workshops for the BTEC & Degree courses.
To date Amy has produced work for many local and national theatres including choreography and vocals for the BBC .
Scott started his training at the age of four and throughout the years has passed several examinations and won numerous awards in drama, specialising in mime.
Scott obtained a BA(Hons) Theatre Practice at the University of Central Lancashire and continues attending professional practical workshops within his specialism.
Scott has appeared on stage at many national theatres including The Royal Albert Hall & The Millennium Dome in London. In addition, his directing work has appeared at Manchester Palace Theatre, St George's Hall and the Leeds Carriageworks Theatre.
Fran is a freelance dance and drama coach and has conducted workshops all over the country for children of all ages.
Over the past three years, Fran has taught a number of performing arts disciplines to over 3000 children across the UK. She has recently graduated in Theatre and Performance at the University of Leeds and is currently obtaining her PGCE.
Fran spent many years performing in both professional and amateur theatre taking lead roles in a number of large scale performances both in England and also in Europe. She has a wealth of experience coaching young people in a number of sports disciplines. Fran is also registered as a qualified chaperone.
SPECIALIST GUITAR/UKULELE TUTOR
Darren has over 20 years experience playing both acoustic and electric guitar and is passionate to share his skills with all ages. He has supported many bands including The Beat and Rolan Bolan (Son of T-rex legend Marc Bolan) and has worked with award winning singer songwriters James Brander and Leo Wyatt.
He recently graduated with a BA (Hons) in Popular Music from Leeds college of Music. The three year course included specific weekly tutorials by renowned German Jazz guitarist Ulrich Elbracht.
Specialised Vocal Tutor
Charlotte has recently graduated from The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts with First-Class Honours having studied Music (specialising in vocals) for three years.
Charlotte now works professionally with a number of different projects including cover bands, cover duo, teaching, top lining, backing vocalist and solo artist.
Some of her greatest achievements to date include; being selected for a one-to-one songwriting masterclass with Sir Paul McCartney, supporting Union J, James Arthur and JLS live, providing backing vocals for The Farm and 80’s star Sonia and achieving just under 1 million views on one of her most popular collaborations, “I Need You”.
Charlotte is thoroughly enjoying teaching at StageDoor and hopes to inspire and help develop emerging young singers.
Specialised Drum Tutor
Dave has a combined playing and teaching experience of nineteen years, as well as touring both nationally and internationally as a drum tech and musician.
Dave was part of the band Humanfly for thirteen years, releasing four critically acclaimed albums and one live album, as well as touring around the UK & Europe and recording at the BBC's Maida Vale Studios with engineer Miti Adhikari (Nirvana, James Blake, Radiohead) for Radio 1.
He graduated from Leeds College of Music in 2013, where he studied and performed with John Newman, with a first class honours degree.
In addition to teaching and playing, Dave is also the drum tech for Leeds College of Music and leads a music session for young people with learning difficulties.
Specialised Piano Tutor
Kevin has been a professional musician and educator for 25 years. He has taught piano, theory and composition from the beginner level up to HND, and he has been a singing tutor and piano accompanist at Leeds City College for the past ten years. As a piano vocalist he has performed in hundreds of concerts with local jazz groups and function bands. He has also worked on cruise ships and played at several international jazz festivals.
Kevin is an accomplished song-writer. His musical "Lone Flyers" (about Amy Johnson) was performed by BTEC students for their 2008 end of year show.
Once a week, he leads music sessions at Guiseley Junior School where his wife is Nursery Manager and where his two daughters now attend.
DANCE & FITNESS TUTOR
Carlene started her training at the New Jersey School of Ballet, from here she attended the Broadway Dance Centre in New York. She graduated from the Philadelphia Performing Arts high school and ever since has worked professionally both as a performer and teacher.
Her professional theatre roles to date include Roxie in Chicago, Lola in Damn Yankees, Cassie in A Chorus Line, Anitain West Side Story, and countless other shows. In addition, Carlene has appeared on the American Hawaiian cruise lines performing on the main stage shows as a cabaret artist.
Guest Professional Artist
Scott began performing at the age of 12, taking classes with Amy in developing his theatre skills and practice. Currently he has been working professionally for the last 5 years both as a performer and musician. His television credits include Nate Gurney in Waterloo Road (BBC 1), Darren in Doctors (BBC) and Scott in Frankenstein's Wedding (BBC 3). He is currently touring the UK with Songbird: The Music of Eva Cassidy playing Chris Biondo.
Scott has recently finished playing Joe in Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story and lead role of Bobby in Dreamboats & Petticoats.
At present he is in rehearsal for the UK tour of the hit musical Footloose.
During breaks from the professional world, Scott is a guest teacher and continues to support StageDoor.
